The Cypher Project was a community initiative built to cultivate skill development and cultural engagement within Toronto's krump dance scene. Over the spring and summer of 2024, it structured a series of open-labs, workshops, sessions, and call-out battles — all rooted in the tradition of the cypher as a space for expression, growth, and genuine connection. The goal was straightforward: give dancers of all levels a place to push their craft, find their people, and leave a mark on krump culture in the city and beyond.
